Our horses enjoy a great life. They all have access to pastures adjoining their barns, and their hay rings are filled with premium quality Tifton 85 hay produced here on the ranch. Since our horses are housed in three barn compounds on separate pastures, we produce a special 3X5 round bale for their hay rings. Smaller bales mean fresher hay as well as less waste and therefore less cleanup. Setting out a small bale frees us from hand feeding square bales morning and night for 10 horses in three separate barn areas. Each bale weights about 350 pounds, enough to feed four horses for about four days.
Horse trails are everywhere on the ranch, as well as a riding arena, and we love to get out and ride. We have more horses than riders, however, and recently we installed a Priefert Panel Walker to help keep our horses fit and well-toned. We really like the safety features this panel walker provides, and the horses really like the freedom of being untethered.
